Crug-Glas Country House Hotel in Abereiddy has been named AA Guest Accommodation of the Year for Wales 2012 at the AA Bed and Breakfast Awards held at the Royal Horseguards Hotel, London.

This annual Awards event recognises and rewards the excellent services provided by the UK’s very best B&B establishments and Crug-Glas Country House Hotel was nominated by the AA’s team of Hotel Inspectors who inspect and rate over 3,000 Bed and Breakfast establishments. Crug-Glas is run by Janet and Perkin Evans, who both have a family connection to the house. Janet’s mother was brought up at Crug-Glas, moving out when she was 13 when Perkin’s family moved in. Coincidentally Janet and Perkin then met and married and Crug-Glas became their family home. When their children started leaving home Janet and Perkin opened their home to guests and have been welcoming visitors to Crug-Glas for over a decade.

Situated in 600 acres of farmland near the Pembrokeshire coastline, Crug- Glas offers guests a relaxed atmosphere in tranquil surroundings. Each room is luxuriously individual and locally sourced produce creates delights at both
breakfast and dinner. Simon Numphud, AA Hotel Services Manager, said, ‘We are delighted to be awarding Crug-Glas the title of Guest Accommodation of the Year for Wales.

The stunning location and attention to detail provided by Janet and Perkin makes Grug-Glas worthy winners of the title.’ Speaking of their win, Perkin said, ‘We are over the moon with this recognition from the AA. To have this award is absolutely fantastic as we have enjoyed building the business from scratch doing it in our own individual way while trying to retain the character of the house as it should be.
