22 years ago, we decided that we would like to start another business running alongside farming.
I have always had a passion for cooking and interior design, and it seemed the perfect combination to start our own B&B and restaurant in our beautiful Georgian house.
Crug Glas means so much to us as it was the home of my (Janets) Mother and when they moved to another farm, Perkins father and his brother moved here. To think that we met, married, and have brought up our three children here, it truly wonderful.
Crug Glas not only means so much to us but also to the history of the surrounding area – Once being part of the cathedral, it was the seat of the archbishop of Carmarthenshire.
Today
We now have a fantastic team which helps us run our award-winning restaurant, rooms and event space. We have developed Crug Glas by expanding our restaurant space, a cosy bar/lounge area is now in the cellar (which was the old kitchen and diaries) and introduced our home reared beef onto our menu.
Sustainability is also a huge part of Crug Glas now too, from 2 biomass boilers which heat The Cowshed, Solar panels which runs all the electricity for Crug Glas, The Cowshed as well as the farm; we have now reduced all packaging to create a cleaner way of running our business.
Crug Glâs is set in rich farming countryside. And this land has always played a big part in making Crug Glâs special.
